North American Refugee Health Conference

As a non-profit our vision is for more equitable healthcare. This year we’re pleased to offer two different scholarships to our North American Refugee Health Conference. The public health scholarships are supported by our partner, the National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, & Migrants.

Both scholarships are for the registration fee only. Travel, lodging, and food are not covered. It is not a cash award. If awarded, the Society will register the awardee for the conference and waive the fee.

Please note that there are a limited number of scholarships available for both scholarships. The public health scholarship is now closed.

Scholarships for previously resettled refugees are still open. Scholarships will be awarded on a “first come, first served” basis as donations become available. If an applicant’s plans has changed and they can’t attend, then the award will be given to another applicant on the list.

Public Health Scholarship

This year we’re delighted to offer scholarships for public health professionals, NACCHO pilot project awardees, and others working within the field of public health to attend the 2022 North American Refugee Health Conference (NARHC). This opportunity is generously supported by the National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants & Migrants (NRC-RIM).

*This scholarship is now closed. We received more applicants than available slots. If you applied for this scholarship you will receive a notice by April 30 if you were awarded a scholarship or not.*

Previously Resettled Refugees

Are you a previously resettled refugee currently working, studying or training in the health field (in any capacity)? Thanks to donations from generous conference attendees, we’re able to offer free registration to NARHC.

How many scholarships are awarded is entirely dependent upon how much money is donated. Scholarships are awarded on a first come/first served basis. They are awarded in the order of those that apply. The Society does not wait to make the award. Once the appropriate amount for a scholarship is collected the next applicant is notified of the award. Since many conference attendees don’t register until a short time before the conference, awards could potentially be given right up until the start of the conference. If an applicant’s plans has changed and they can’t attend, then the award will be given to the next applicant on the list.
