Volunteer or Intern
take initiative
As a non-profit and an association whose core mission is education, we love having volunteers and student interns join our team. Below are some ways we can use support. Have another way you’d like to get involved?

Volunteer for a Committee
committees
Society members are eligible to propose creating a committee. Committees are special interest groups dedicated to a subfield within refugee and immigrant health
Advocacy Committee
Focused on improving healthcare delivery systems, this committee hosts regular meetings to discuss and address timely issues. Open to all members interested in advocacy work.

International Refugee and Migration Health Conference Planning Committee
The conference planning committee is responsible for organizing the Refugee Health Conference, from creating the agenda to selecting speakers and managing logistics.

Research, Evaluation, & Ethics Committee
This committee fosters refugee health research, supports community needs, and includes professionals from various specialties, including those with lived refugee experience.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Committee
Advocating for sexual and reproductive health rights, this committee invites members passionate about these issues to contribute to its important work.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Committee
The MHPSS Committee enhances refugee psychological well-being through guidance, training, advocacy, and collaboration with mental health professionals.

Refugee, Immigrant, and Migrant (RIM) Health Nursing Committee
Facilitating communication, knowledge sharing, professional development, and advocacy among nurses and allied health professionals involved in the healthcare of RIM communities.

You’ll make our year by volunteering with the International Refugee & Migration Health Conference.
conference volunteer
We need session moderators, planning committee members, and volunteers who can help our coordinator manage logistics on the day to keep the conference running smoothly – working the registration booth, communicating with venue staff about any issues, answering attendee questions, pre-conference set up, and more. In return volunteers are given free conference registration and when not assigned to work shifts can spend that time attending sessions.
Volunteer for Conference
*Priority is given to locals of the conference host city and people with lived experience as refugees/forced displacement.*
