A New Name, A Global Mission

For over a decade, the North American Refugee Health Conference has united professionals dedicated to refugee care. Today, renamed the International Refugee & Migration Health Conference, we expand our reach globally while honoring the trusted legacy of NARHC.

  1. Inception of NARHC

The North American Refugee Health Conference (NARHC) began as a shared initiative between healthcare leaders in the U.S. and Canada. Launched in 2010, it quickly established itself as a vital platform for professionals addressing the unique healthcare challenges faced by refugees and immigrants.

  2. A Decade of Growth

Over the years, NARHC grew into a prominent international gathering, drawing 750 attendees at NARHC 2023 in Calgary and 1,083 attendees at NARHC 2024 in Minneapolis. By alternating annually between the United States and Canada, it became a hub for education, collaboration, and cultural awareness, offering participants the opportunity to exchange innovative practices, explore critical research, and expand their networks to better serve displaced populations.

  3. From NARHC to a Global Identity

Recognizing the increasing need for worldwide cooperation, NARHC has now transformed into the International Refugee & Migration Health Conference. This rebrand reflects a broader mission: to connect healthcare professionals, policymakers, and advocates globally. With plans for events across Europe, Australia, and beyond, the conference continues to drive impactful discussions and solutions for the health and well-being of refugees and forcibly displaced populations on an international scale.
