Dr. Santino Severoni has pursued 25 years distinguished career with WHO, serving as global health leader with extensive experience managing complex multi-country programmes and driving transformative strategies at national, regional, and international levels.
Former WHO HQ Director of the Global Health and Migration Programme, Director of Health Systems and Public Health at WHO EURO, Special Adviser on Migration and Health, and WHO Representative in Tajikistan and Albania.
Previous humanitarian leadership with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in East Africa and the Balkans. (Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania).
Since 2025, he continues to lead the global health and migration work at WHO HQ as Head of Special initiative on Health and Migration.
