About Dr. Alexander Tenorio
Alexander Tenorio, MD, is a fifth-year neurosurgery resident at UC San Diego Health. He is the son of Mexican Immigrants with particular interest in caring for vulnerable populations. Dr. Tenorio’s academic interest focuses on analyzing health care disparities within neurosurgery, particularly immigrant populations. He has worked extensively to increase awareness of the rise of traumatic injuries at the United States-Mexico border . His advocacy work has included collaborating with human rights organizations and advocating to legislators and government officials at the local, state, and federal level. He recently testified at a Congressional hearing as an expert witness on the humanitarian consequences of our current border infrastructure.
Dr. Tenorio earned his medical degree from UC San Francisco School of Medicine and undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
